hokie designers graphics
I was the Creative director and lead photographer on the executive board of Hokie Designers, one of Virginia Tech’s fashion clubs, since it started in fall 2023 to spring 2025. In this role, I oversaw the club’s creative vision, planning and execution of our annual outdoor spring fashion show, collaborating with designers, models, production, and social media teams. I also organized and put on multiple photoshoots for our club members. During my first year, I also designed for and managed the club’s Instagram account, where as the second year I supervised a social media team to expand our reach and strengthen our presence.

Struttin’ for paws
Struttin’ for PAWS was a fashion show we put on in collaboration with PAWS, an organization our club president started to spread awareness for pet adoptions. I created our flyer showcasing members of our club and a dog (with a photograph I took from one of our photoshoots.)
Second flyer made when the show date was changed. Kept within our Earth tone color palette and similar concept but wanted a fresh look for the updated show date. I continued the photo cut outs, same fonts, reused the paw prints and textured the background over a very low opacity part of the image for more depth and visual interest.

Video promoting the next year of the club, made in Canva. I wanted to show a quick preview of the club including the fashion show, our photoshoots, club members interacting and photos from out previous show!
Spring Fever was our first ever fashion show, and Virginia Tech’s first outdoor fashion show. I created this flyer to be printed out and hung around campus to advertise the show. (The background is darker than the other digital posts due to the color change while printing.)
These are some of the Instagram posts I made and posted to advertise the fashion show.
This was my first time running an Instagram account and I wanted it to look cohesive while still being able to use a wide variety of colors since our color pallet for the show was pastels and Spring colors. I decided to make a example Instagram feed with colors blocked out (right image) to maintain a pattern throughout the feed. I then made a mock Instagram feed to give examples for myself of posts based on the color it needed to be. I used posts I had already made, photographs and premade Canva templates to give myself an idea of the feed.
I also made larger feed examples that I’d fill in with new posts as i made them so I could see how new potential posts would look with the previous ones and edit them accordingly if they didn’t look right.
